The use of concrete in various interior styles
The days when concrete was associated mainly with blocks of large slabs and a hidden base for interior finishing have long since been forgotten. The growing popularity of lofts, which are a kind of recycling in the real estate area, has largely contributed to this.
Concrete, however, is not only reserved for the industrial style, which is associated with the loft, and although it must be admitted that in the company of metal and glass it looks extremely impressive, it will also work with Scandinavian or modern style, and even boho, which in the first we probably wouldn't connect with concrete.
Let's start with the most obvious when choosing concrete, industrial style. It is here that everything is raw, unfinished, as if during the construction works the renovation team forgot to bury cables or finish the walls. However, this is the intended effect, because in industrial interiors, people with an artistic soul who have a great need for a sense of space and creative freedom find their refuge. And this is where concrete is seen in virtually every word.
Scandinavian style is primarily characterized by minimalism and the use of simple forms (isn't this a perfect description of concrete?). There is something else in it that works well with concrete, it is the use of wood, natural fabrics and vegetation. Wooden furniture and soft accessories without which it is difficult to imagine a Scandinavian interior, warm the raw and quite cool nature of concrete, making the interior extremely cozy.
Modern style has readily adopted concrete as an element of decor. He is characterized by a passion for simplicity, without unnecessary additions and decorations, but with a large amount of open space and light.
And how does concrete match the boho style? Well, boho is a fairly casual style, characterized by artistic disorder and balanced eclecticism. It appears in many colors and textures, for which it will be an ideal background or on the contrary, for example, a concrete flower pot will become the main decorative element against the background of the whole blaze of mixed colors.
Nothing stands in the way to create a boho interior in which we use less colors and focus on accessories. Dream catchers, soft fabrics with a variety of textures will also create a boho interior, though with a more delicate nature. And so, against the background of a concrete wall, they will look great, for example, so willingly used recently in grass interiors. The contrast between the nature of concrete and delicate Pampas grass will cause us to discover their beauty again.
The secret of such wide possibilities of using concrete lies undoubtedly in its simplicity. It is an extremely neutral background that corresponds beautifully with most materials, colors and textures.
