DYNASIL Smart - waterproofing impregnate against water and stains for concrete slabs

Hydro and oleophobic impregnation for architectural concrete.



PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

DYNASIL® SMART Protect is the latest generation of fast crosslinking impregnation based on hydro - and oleophobic silanes. Designed for high-performance protective impregnation of all types of absorbent building materials, preventing the seepage of water, grease and dirt.


Dynasil® SMART Protect impregnated materials are characterized by an excellent "beading effect" and resistance to the formation of greasy stains. Protected facades acquire very strong self-cleaning properties and high resistance to moss fouling and the development of microorganisms. Excellent oleophobic properties, providing materials with high stain resistance, making DYNASIL® SMART a perfect solution for protective impregnation of indoor materials, especially exposed to dirt and greasy stains. Chemically active DYNASIL® SMART creates permanent bonds with the surface which guarantees long-term and complete protection. The impregnation does not clog pores and capillaries, therefore it does not change the natural "breathing" properties of the substrate. In the case of some Dynasil® SMART Protect materials, it allows to obtain the so-called Superhydrophobic surfaces.



APPLICATION:

Dynasil® SMART Protect is intended for the impregnation of vertical and strongly inclined surfaces, both inside and outside, such as: concrete, clinker, ceramic materials, all kinds of natural stones, gypsum, paint coatings, mineral plasters, joints, etc. Especially recommended for impregnating surfaces exposed to the formation of atmospheric dirt, greasy stains and the growth of microorganisms. Indoors, it can be used to impregnate unpolished stone, concrete and ceramic floors

WEAR:

10 - 40 m2 / L (consumption depends on the absorbency of the material, degree of dilution and application technique)

1L of solution in the spray method is sufficient for about 10m2.

The durability of the impregnation largely depends on the applied care products and the use of the surface. It is not advisable to use highly degreasing agents containing solvents or alcohol, as well as acidic and highly alkaline preparations, which may weaken the effect of the impregnation. For frequently washed surfaces that come into contact with cleaning agents, e.g. in bathrooms, on kitchen worktops, we recommend renewing the impregnation every 3-4 years. In other areas, durability depends on the use and may vary from a few to several years.

DYNASIL® Smart reduces the sensitivity of stones such as marble to acidic liquids. In many cases it is completely effective, but due to the variety of stones, protection should be considered temporary. Prolonged contact with acidic liquids or products may leave stains and damage the surface, so they should be removed as soon as possible.

Before starting work, perform a test on a small area, in an invisible place, in order to assess the appearance of the material after impregnation. If the effect is satisfactory, you can proceed to impregnation of the entire surface.

1. Do not leave excess preparation on the treated surface to dry, as its removal may be very difficult or impossible. 2. The appearance of the natural stone cladding is retained (it is possible to deepen the color with some types of stone, therefore it is recommended to make a trial to evaluate the effect obtained). 3. Protect the impregnated surfaces against water and dirt for at least 12 hours.
